Commitment to Environmental Sustainability
Plum is committed to stewardship of environmental resources. As a small, company with a fully remote workforce, Plum maintains a low carbon footprint by minimizing travel, eliminating employee commutes, and eliminating the environmental footprint of physical offices.
While Plum procures few durable goods, environmental impacts are always considered when making purchases.
Plum does consume cloud services. While the aggregate impact of cloud data centers is significant, their environmental foot print per unit of compute and storage is far better than Plum could achieve operating its own data centers. That said, Plum is always striving to make our services more efficient to save cost, improve performance, and to consume less.
Commitment to Fair Labor Practices
Plum is deeply committed to ensuring that Plum is a positive force in the lives of those who work for us and with us.
Ensuring that Plum meets all applicable labor standards in all jurisdictions in which our workforce operates is just the starting point. Plum strives to deliver a workplace with a growth mindset and robust psychological safety (See Growth Mindset and Psychological Safety Policy ). As a consequence, Plum eschews any practice that would result in a member of Plum’s or its suppliers workforce from being denied their freedom of person and movement including withholding identity or immigration documents, using recruiters or labor brokers who do not meet Plum’s standards, and penalizing individuals for cancelling their contracts early.
All employees and professional services contractors have contracts that clearly define their work assignment and the terms of their engagement.
While Plum lacks the capacity to delve into the labor practices of our suppliers, Plum does choose suppliers who express commitment to Labor Rights and Workplace Safety.
