The Map Tab
Once your Talent Map has been populated with Members and Opportunities, you can then explore the results from the Map tab. The Map tab is an intuitive visual that allows you to Map an unlimited number of employees and Opportunities together. You can see how each employee matches to every Opportunity, and how each Opportunity matches to every employee. It displays the Match Score of each Member of your Map with every Opportunity that is part of your Map.
If an Opportunity does not have a Match Criteria, or if a Member does not have a Plum Profile, a Match Score will not be displayed for that given Opportunity/Member in the Map tab. The Match column will either state No Match Criteria or No Plum Profile. You can read how to request an employee or several employees to complete the Plum Discovery Survey here.
The number of records in the Map tab is the product of the number of Members and number of Opportunities. If there are 100 Members and 3 Opportunities, there will be 300 records in the Map tab.
Calculation of matches may take some time to populate depending on the number of records. You can refresh the page as needed.
The Filter button enables custom views of the Map tab based on one or more Opportunities, one of more pipeline statuses, and/or one or more Match Ranges. They allow you to manipulate the Talent Map to focus on all the necessary information for an efficient and well-informed decision-making process.
- Isolate a Member’s results by typing their name or email address into the search bar.
- Click on the Filter button and select one or more filters to narrow down your view. You can cross-filter the fields of Opportunity, Status, Match Range, and/or Member Interest (if Opportunity Interest is turned on). You can also select more than one value per filter, as needed. Filter criteria are preserved until the filter is cleared.
- To remove a filter, simply click on Clear under the search bar.
The Status column delivers an operable drop-down menu for each Member/Opportunity Match. The available pipeline status options are In Review, Not Considering, Considering, Shortlist, and Placed.
The smart, rules-based engine recognizes when Members are placed into an Opportunity and automatically sets Members’ Statuses to Placed Elsewhere for all other Opportunities within the Talent Map.
It also remembers prior statuses, so any actions to undo a Member placement will reverse the placed elsewhere status to the previous statuses. The smart system improves efficiency and reduces the work required to make pipeline changes for every record.
Bulk Actions for Status Changes
You can also change the status of Member/Opportunity Matches with the Bulk Actions function. First, using the Filter button, filter by the Matches on which you wish to perform the bulk Status change.
Then, click on the Bulk Actions button and select which pipeline Status you wish to move the Matches to. Please note that any Member that has already been placed into an Opportunity will not be affected by any Bulk Actions.
Once you click on Apply, you will then see that the status of all the Matches of your view has changed to the desired pipeline stage.
Match Visualizations in the Map Tab
The Match Visualization in the Map Tab enables more nuanced decision-making with a visualization for the Match that leverages the Drive/Drain paradigm. You can access the Match Visualization by clicking on a Match Score for any record in the Map Tab.
The Match Visualization allows you to see how a given Member performs against the five Talents of the Match Criteria associated to the Opportunity. The energy icons provide a visual breakdown to understand what drains and drives your employees. You can access a Member’s Plum Profile and Talent Guide directly from the Match Visualization view, by clicking on the icon next to their name.
Remember that you can always navigate back to the Members tab for a deeper dive into a Member’s Talents, by leveraging the Talent Insights feature.
